Blog Improvements

1. New Blog Preview when adding or editing a blog entry. This allows you to see how your blog post will look on the page after saving it!
2. Save as Draft button, now you can come back later to finish that next great blog entry. Drafts will store on the site for 30 days and has a visible link at the top of the blog so you can access your drafts.
3. Blog Scheduling, you can set a date and time for your blog entry to post to the public, very handy for planning holiday greetings and such.

Profile Changes

1. We have renamed the Add Elements link to Apps. The link displays a list of elements (now called Profile Apps) a users can add to their profiles. This should make it easier for users to understand how to add things to their page. Now from the Apps pages there is also an Add More button to access the Widgetbox App Library.
2. Add Widget has been moved the the Profile Apps page under the Add More option.
3. My Home has been phased out and replaced with My Feed, My Feed will take the users directly to their Activity Feed while keeping them within the profile wrapper.
4. Add/Edit Style has been renamed to Profile Designer

New Social Integration Settings Page
This new settings feature has been put in place to make it easy to configure features and settings that may rely on 3rd party social solutions such as Twitter.

• Share Content Template customization. We have standardized the sharing feature, by default you will have a Twitter and Facebook Like button on content like Blogs, Videos, Photos and Events.

Other Changes and Fixes in this update

• Link Directory - We have developed our own Website Thumbnail solution to generate previews of sites from the links. In the past we used 3rd party solutions that had branding and were somewhat unrelaible. This will fix the broken images you may have seen in your link directory over the last few days.
• Plus a number of other less noticeable bug fixes that effected a very limited number of our users.

We are pleased to inform you that we have accomplished our goals. In our side-by-side speed test comparisons, the updated DGP platform loads pages as much as twice as fast as before the update! Also, the DGP platform is now completely compatible with the new IE browser and should work great in the new Firefox browser when it comes out in a couple months. During this process, we went through all our code written over the last 5 years to optimize and bring everything current with the latest technologies in mind.

As with any major update, there may be a bug or two which we missed. If you encounter any problems, please let us know in a support request and we will address it.

Note: This update required many resource files to be updated. Even though we have taken all possible measures to try to force your browser to get the latest version of the updated files some browsers may ignore that. In this case, you may experience problems or errors on the site. The solution is to clear your cache and restart your browser to correct your issues.

Daddy's Game Place will be undergoing some changes in the coming weeks. These changes will affect the overall site performance and the way users connect with each other. We ask that you be patient while the staff prepares and tests improvements prior to implementation.

We are continuing our improvements to the e-mail notifications users receive for activity related to them on your community. Users can now receive notifications to their email for updates to conversations they are a part of, when others comment on content they have added (photos, videos, etc), forum threads they have started, when their content is featured, friend requests and much more. Users can now manage what they receive notifications for from their account settings.

Forums

We added the option to edit signatures directly on forum posts. Now users do not need to go to a forum settings page to edit their signature, they can access the feature directly on any of their forum posts. By doing this we have also been able to make it easy for forum moderators to edit an offensive user signature as well.

We have removed the forum avatar option. The user pic shown in the forums is now the same as everywhere else on the site; the user’s profile picture.

Under the forums search box we have replaced the forum settings link with a “My Subscriptions” link. This shows all the current threads the user is subscribed to, gives them quick access to see updates and gives them an easy way to unsubscribe if they desire.

Groups

We have improved the way you approve members that are waiting to join your groups. Now the Approve/Decline option is directly on the page and easily accessible, instead of having to hover over the user pic to see the option. We have also improved group creation to give better feedback for errors when creating a group, such as already having a group by the same name.

Dialog and Settings Windows

In this update we have also worked to standardize all the dialog and settings pop-up windows to work the same way as the site management windows. This improves user experience for things such as the Rich Text Editor element, allowing you to resize and move the editing window to give you a more flexible work environment.

It's official people. Gears of War 3 is slated for April 2011.  This will be the final installment in the epic story of Delta Squad. Personally, I am anxious to find out how the story will end. The dramatic tone of the "Ashes to Ashes" trailer sets the stage for a brutal storyline that is sure to please. With Jacinto in ruins, Delta Squad and the remaining survivors make their last stand to save the human race from extinction.

EA ANNOUNCES BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY 2 LIMITED EDITION

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition delivers six special customizations early to give players a day one advantage in multiplayer matches. Four vehicle warfare unlocks

This is the infamous unlimited care package glitch on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Most of us have already had the opportunity to experience this feat of noobage. If you have yet to see this online feel free to view the video above. As  you can see, the glitch is fairly easy to pull off. The cost of such douche baggery may be more than you're willing to pay if you are one of the many players using this glitch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3 has been patched. The following fixes were applied.

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Fix for "infinite care package" exploit.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Fixes to prevent various XP hacks.

The patch for the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was pulled from Microsoft certification. There were additional fixes that needed to be applied. Guess us hardcore Xbox 360 gamers will have to wait just a little longer.
